All our services have remained available to the citizens of Mesa County throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, however, in observance of Memorial Day, the entirety of Mesa County Department of Human Services will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. All services will again be available for business on Tuesday, May 26.

Colorado Works (TANF) Declared Emergency Program.

If you need assistance with food, rent, or paying other bills, as a result of COVID-19, some emergency assistance may be available. This assistance is intended to help stabilize households that have been impacted by COVID-19. The level of assistance is based on your household’s situation, considering program limitations and guidelines. Your household may qualify for this assistance if your annual income is $75,000 or less.

Mesa County Department of Human Services Welfare Abuse & Neglect Hotline Phone Numbers Remain Open and Operational
 We want to assure the community we are available to help protect our most vulnerable populations

All hotline phone numbers to report abuse or neglect for Child Welfare and Adult Protection remain open and staffed to take phone calls 24 hours a day. For our Single Entry Point clients, the phone number for Long Term Care, Home and Community Based Services, Home Care Allowance and Nursing Facility is open and taking phone calls.

The hotline phone number for child abuse or neglect is 970-242-1211. The hotline for Adult Protection is 970-248-2888, option 2. The Single Entry Point hotline number is 970-248-2888, option 1.

**IMPORTANT** Information on Mesa County Department of Human Services and Workforce Center Operations


Effective Wednesday, March 18, the Mesa County Workforce Center will be closed to the public until further notice. Our Community Services Building for the Department of Human Services remains open to the public at this time. The upstairs Child Welfare lobby will be closed to the public, and will direct all clients to the main window in Public Assistance. Please click here for information on individual departments within the Department of Human Services and Workforce Center for the most up-to-date information.

MISSING CHILD - Jackson Richie

Jackson Richie. 5, was picked up from school around 10 am this morning.

The child is believed to be with Laura Beaulieu, 38, of Clifton.

Beaulieu left with Jackson in a 1997 White Pontiac Firebird with the Colorado license plate BQW-380.

If seen, call 911 immediately.

Child picture removed for his safety after he was found safe.

On June 14, members of the Mesa County Workforce Center, Hilltop Resource Center, friends and family members gathered at the Workforce Center to take part in and watch the graduation ceremony for the GED class of Spring 2019. Please join the Mesa County Workforce Center, AARP Colorado and other local partners for a FREE community conversation about making Grand Junction, Mesa County and the Western Slope even more livable for people of all ages. AARP Colorado’s entire eight-member staff and seven-member volunteer Executive Council will be on hand to hear from local residents and businesses, and to discuss their priorities in areas of federal and state advocacy as well as ways to make Western Slope communities even more age-friendly.

Important Changes to Mobile Food Pantry


Effective Monday, June 10, 2019, the Salvation Army will no longer be a distribution location for the Mobile Food Pantry. The new location will be at the Downtown Vineyard Church on the corner of 4th and Grand Avenue. The second location at Clifton Christian Church, on F 1/4 Road, will remain.
